  • Mission

Tucson Fringe Mission Statement: To produce an annual unjuried, uncensored festival of theater and other performing arts events in downtown Tucson that provide accessible and inclusive opportunities for theater and performing artists and audiences. Values Statement: Tucson Fringe Festival Inc. is founded in equal opportunity for all. We believe diversity fuels the spirit, fosters meaningful connections, and cultivates a beautifully creative and conscientious community. We value everyone's unique self and understand each person has different abilities and capacities. We are committed to inclusion across identity including but not limited to ethnicity, culture, gender, age, religion, orientation, and experience.

    About Us

The Tucson Fringe Festival was founded in 2010 by two Tucson natives, and is based on the tenets of other International Fringe Festivals. We make it possible for artists to create new, original, provocative works without worrying about the logistics such as venues, tech support, front-of-house, ticketing, marketing, etc. In return, we offer arts programming to the Tucson community that is unique and accessible, often using non-traditional venues (bars, art galleries, open studios, etc) and keeping ticket prices low (each Fringe show is only $10).

Over the years, the festival has grown from three shows on one night, to over twenty shows (50+ performances) over 4 days. Our attendance grows each year but we're still considered a small festival, which makes us a great opportunity for artists who are just starting to tour their original works. Because of that, each year, in addition to supporting 8-12 local performing groups, we have 8-12 performers from around the country coming to Tucson for a weekend celebration of what the arts can achieve.

In addition to our annual festival, we also host two or other events a year, bringing theatre lovers and performers to downtown non-traditional, more relaxed, often interactive performing venues.
