PaintCare

PaintCare, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2009 by the American Coatings Association (ACA) to implement state-mandated paint stewardship programs on behalf of paint manufacturers in each state that adopts a paint stewardship law. PaintCare programs are funded by a fee on new paint sales. Funding is used to set up drop-off sites where the public can take leftover paint for recycling, pay for the recycling of this paint, conduct public education, and provide program administration. PaintCare currently runs programs in ten states and the District of Columbia. A program for Washington was recently launched in April 2021, and a New York program is also scheduled to launch in early 2022. Please visit www.paintcare.org for more information.

American Coatings Association

The American Coatings Association (ACA) is an established organization with a renewed mission. In 2010, the organization took the name ACA in recognition of its new identity as an association that represents both companies and professionals working in the paint and coatings industry.

ACA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization working to advance the needs of the paint and coatings industry and the professionals who work in it. Through advocacy of the industry and its positions on legislative, regulatory, and judicial issues at the federal, state and local levels, it acts as an effective ally ensuring that the industry is represented and fairly considered. The association also devotes itself to advancing industry efforts with regard to product stewardship, through its signature Coating Care® resources, and focuses on advancements in science and technology through its technical conferences and journals, as well as online training opportunities.
