About Us

VOICES BOSTON was founded as a non-profit organization in 1990 by Johanna Hill Simpson in Brookline, MA, in response to funding cuts for the arts. It now serves more than 190 children grades K-12 from Brookline, Boston and neighboring towns, regardless of their financial circumstance. Known for its artistic excellence, VOICES has collaborated dozens of times with internationally known ensembles including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Cantata Singers, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Pops, and Boston Early Music Festival. VOICES choristers learn about themselves and others by performing a wide repertoire, from classical to world music, gospel to new music.
