Girls Rock Detroit

Girls Rock Detroit is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering girls’ creative expression, positive self-esteem and community awareness through rock music education and performance. By encouraging creativity, confidence and collaboration in a supportive environment, we strive to empower young women to challenge preconceived notions of they can do, what they can become, and to become engaged members of our communities. We believe it is crucial that girls have access to equipment and instruction regardless of their socio-economic background, race or ethnicity.
GRD was formed in September of 2014 by a group of women from metro Detroit. We are an LGBTQ friendly organization and strive to provide a safe atmosphere for all. We are an active member of the national Girls Rock Camp Alliance.
