About Us

Our mission: Unite people to build leadership and grassroots power for social, economic, racial and environmental justice. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-issue, member led organization. We promote leadership and capacity building while we tackle equity issues on housing, immigration, education, transportation justice and community equity. Formed in December, 2010, North Bay Organizing Project (NBOP) is comprised of 20 institutions whose members are immigrants, people of color, youth and students in congregations, environmental organizations, unions, schools, colleges and civic organizations. NBOP was formed out of the need to build power for immigrants and people of color, in order to and foster integration and engagement in the public arena.  The purpose of the North Bay Organizing Project (NBOP) is to build a vehicle that unites institutions, trains leaders inside of those institutions, and engages those institutions to build the necessary power to change the structures that keep people poor.
