David Ibarra for Salt Lake City Mayor

David Ibarra is running for Mayor of Salt Lake City in 2019. His experiences and success have uniquely positioned him to be the bold and energetic leader that our city needs.

David was raised in Utah foster care. His experiences growing up in Salt Lake City taught him the importance of depending on one another, the value of working hard, and the power of doing your best. He quickly internalized these lessons and at age 16 worked his way up from dishwasher at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor to owner of the store in less than 10 years. Today David is a successful businessman who dedicates countless hours of coaching and mentoring to help develop others.  

He is passionate about creating a more secure future for our families and our city. His vision is of a city that prioritizes social, economic and environmental justice, clean energy, has a vibrant and inclusive downtown, and protects the surrounding mountains and ecosystems.
