  • About Us

HANDS ACROSS LONG ISLAND (HALI) is the largest peer-run mental health organization in NY State and the first mental health clinic of it’s kind in the United States. Helping over 3,500 people each year. HALI was founded in 1988 as a grassroots multi-service organization, managed and operated by psychiatric survivors.

HALI works with the expectation that people can and do recover. They work, have meaningful relationships and become contributing members of their communities. People receiving HALI services are not patients, but people with potential.
