Oberlin Heritage Center

  • Mission

The mission of the Oberlin Heritage Center is to preserve and share Oberlin's unique heritage and to make our community a better place to live, learn, work, and visit.

    About Us

The Oberlin Heritage Center (OHC) is a 501(c)3 nationally-accredited museum and local history site. OHC’s core services of history preservation, interpretation, and advocacy are founded on the belief that history learning and practices are beneficial in multiple ways. Learning history encourages critical thinking as individuals consider different ways of life and paths of action. OHC strives to share stories of how individuals shaped history, hopefully encouraging learners to feel that their actions, even small ones, can add up to powerful movements and change. Finally, we also believe that public history serves a role in connecting people to one another and to their communities, encouraging respect and civic involvement.
