About Us

Michigan Technological University runs ten Peace Corps Master's International (PCMI) Programs and six OSMRE/VISTA (OV) Programs. Students enroll and earn a Master's degree in the appropriate field after one year on campus, 2+ years of Peace Corps service or 1 year of VISTA service, and one semester back on campus. Some programs require an additional semester. The programs provide Peace Corps and VISTA with volunteers who are more prepared for volunteer service in language, cross-cultural, NGO management, and technical skills. Programs: Applied Natural Resource Economics (PCMI), Biological Sciences (PCMI and OV), Civil and Environmental Engineering (PCMI and OV), Computer Science (PCMI), Electrical and Computer Engineering (PCMI), Environmental and Energy Policy (OV), Forestry and Applied Ecology (PCMI and OV), Industrial Archaeology (OV), Mechanical Engineering (PCMI), Natural Hazards Mitigation (Geology) (PCMI and OV), Rhetoric and Technical Communication (PCMI), and Science Education (PCMI).
