  • Mission

Newnan-Coweta Humane Society is a 501(c)3 all volunteer, non-profit organization, dedicated to reducing the number of pets euthanized at Coweta County Animal Control (Newnan, GA) through rescue, spay/neuter, foster programs and community awareness. NCHS works to provide leadership in the implementation of public policy concerning animal issues, and to participate in the humane management of the area’s increasing animal population. We will also provide educational programs to assist residents in caring for and enjoying their pets and will work to improve public awareness of companion animals’ ability to enhance the quality of life in our community.

    About Us

Newnan-Coweta Humane Society was founded in 1975 and is the oldest humane society or animal welfare organization in Coweta County. We do not receive federal, state, or county funding. We rely completely on donations, grants and fees collected from adoptions to fund our rescue efforts. We maintain an active presence at the Coweta County Animal Control facility, but are NOT directly affiliated with the county government. We serve the animals at that facility, by taking photos and videos and posting them to our website, hosting a weekly TV show "Adopt-a-Pet", working with many local, regional and out of state rescues to facilitate rescue for animals facing euthanasia. We have an active foster program where we foster animals and place them for adoption locally at PetsMart, PETCO, and other off-site locations.
