The Virginia Scottish Games and Festival is an event that brings together people from all over to celebrate Scottish heritage and culture through food, music, and demonstrations of dance and athleticism.

    About Us

The Virginia Scottish Games and Festival began in 1974 as an officially sponsored event of the City of Alexandria, under the auspices of the St. Andrew's Society Of Washington D.C. and the Alexandria Tourist Council. The Games became a fixture in the community and for 32 years were held every July at Episcopal High School. The Games now take place at Great Meadows in The Plains, VA. We aim to put on an event to educate people on Scottish history, heritage amd culture through hosting different competitions Such as highland games, fiddling, pipes and drums, vintage cars , and dance, as well as demonstrations like shepherding, living history, and fencing , among other things.
