Canaan Dog Alliance is a United States based 501c3 rescue solely focused on rsaving stray animals from the Middle East and rehoming them in the United States. We are currently working with our sister organization, Al Rahmeh Association for Animals, (please check out their website here for more information - https://www.alrahmehforanimals.org/) in Jordan to assist them in their efforts to save the Canaan dog population from neglect, abuse, and extermination. The animal welfare situation in the Middle East is a crisis that needs immediate attention. Many animals are considered lucky if they make it past a year fending for themselves on the streets. Most rescued animals have experienced some form of trauma due to the harsh and unforgiving conditions of their street lives. For example, dogs face annihilation simply for beings dogs. Locals can call municipalities to shoot a neighborhood dog simply because they find their barking to be a nuisance. Our goal is the find the perfect homes in the United States for each one of our rescues to give them the second chance that they deserve. In addition to rehoming our rescues, we hope to also address the issue by fostering a relationship with local Jordanians to help change the misconception regarding dogs that persists in the society. We are looking for dedicated people who will assist us in this important mission through marketing using various social media platforms to fundraise and raise awareness.
