Kids in the Spotlight, Inc.

Kids in the Spotlight is a nonprofit organization that provides a platform for youth in foster care to confront, address, and overcome psychological and emotional trauma through transformative storytelling and filmmaking. Our youth write, cast, and star in their own short films, telling their stories their way while providing them with the support and skills needed to pursue higher education, gain employment, and become stable and productive members of society. Our year-round 10-to-15-week Screenwriting and Filmmaking Program is a unique blend of art therapy and arts education that presents foster youth and underserved youth with a global platform to express their talent and diverse voices positively while also teaching them the importance of teamwork, respect, commitment, and discipline. Our entire operation and objective provide an outlet and a platform for youth to be seen, heard, validated, celebrated, educated and employed.
