  • Mission

Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest supports immigrants in detention and when released through welcoming services focused on transitional support and connection to vital resources for resettlement.

    About Us

Advocate for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AIDNW) is dedicated to serving detained and released immigrants at the Northwest Ice Processing Center, NWIPC on the Tacoma tide flats. When an immigrant is unable to hear the voices of family and friends, we end that silence. When an immigrant does not have anyone able to visit, we end that isolation. When an immigrant is released from NWIPC hundreds or even thousands of miles from friends or families, our volunteers are waiting at our Welcome Center RV to help them with onward travel to their loved ones in the United States. If they have nowhere to go, we provide them with a supportive living environment until reunification with those loved ones can happen. With our incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers, AID NW offers immigrants a touch of humanity and dignity.
