  • Mission

    The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities [mental retardation], giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitnesss, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in as sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

    About Us

    Special Olympics Oklahoma develops and administers a year-round training and competition program throughout the state offering approximately 100 competition events each year. Competition is offered in 15 sports for athletes 8 years of age and above.

    Special Olympics is a volunteer driven organization. Volunteers come from corporations, businesses, civic organizations, schools, churches, and individuals. The majority of volunteers assist in the running of our competitions; from organizing athletes, to timing & measuring, to presenting awards.

    From time to time volunteers are needed at Special / Fundraising events.
