Central District Organizing Project (CDOP)

  • About Us

CENTRAL DISTRICT ORGANIZING PROJECT (CDOP) is a community organizing collective working together to build power to improve the historic Midtown/Central District neighborhood in Gary, Indiana. Our organization develops grassroots leaders & organizes local issue campaigns, utilizing direct action organizing to win real improvements in the lives of real people. We unite residents, religious organizations, community organizations, and individual activists into a powerful coalition fighting for social and economic justice in our community. In accord with that mission, we also operate Anansi's Web Youth Media Action Project, a youth leadership program that cultivates youth voice and empowerment in Gary by engaging local teens in youth media, technology, personal development, and social justice activism.
