    SouthWest Improvement Council (SWIC) is a southwest metro Denver nonprofit organization which provides services at the local neighborhood level meeting urgent human needs and empowers residents to become involved as volunteers and take responsibility for their community. At the Westwood Community Center which it operates, SWIC provides programs for seniors, and emergency food and shelter assistance to residents in need. SWIC also collaborates with other agencies and local government to provide decent affordable housing to low- and moderate-income residents, programs for youth, eliminate prejudice and discrimination, combat community deterioration, and lessen neighborhood tension.
