Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity believes that every person deserves a decent place to live. We rely on donors and volunteers to build, rehab, and repair homes locally and across the globe. At Habitat, volunteers are central to our work. You'll be joining a team of 1,700 other like-minded people who want a hands-on way to improve their community! You'll see us active in the community in three main ways:
Home ownership:
The home ownership program provides low-income families the opportunity to purchase a safe, affordable home. Participating families complete 250-500 "sweat equity" or volunteer hours and commit to paying a no-interest mortgage.
Home Repair:
We work with families who need health and safety-related home repairs. We provide repair services at a reduced price, and the homeowner has access to a no-interest loan to cover the remaining cost of the repair work.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Building and repairing homes takes a lot of money, and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore helps us raise those necessary funds. Through the sale of new and gently used furniture, construction supplies, and appliances, we are able to raise thousands of dollars to help build and repair homes in our community. We receive quality donations from businesses and individuals. We then re-sell items to the public at a fraction of retail.
