About Us

Park Avenue Congregational Church, UCC was founded in 1899. We are part of the United Church of Christ, formed from the merger of four denominations in 1957. In true Congregational tradition, we have a grass-roots type of government, in which we elect our council of deacons and call a pastor of our choosing. Our parish hall provides us with a place to ‘congregate’ and enjoy coffee, snacks and fellowship after our 10AM worship service every Sunday. Our mission statement expresses our purpose and our goals enumerate how we strive to achieve this. We welcome all into the full life of the church, and to quote our Open and Affirming statement, ‘In our calling to express the love and welcome of Christ, we affirm the dignity and worth of every person.’
