About Us
Habitat 2030 is a group of dynamic Millenials and Generation X'ers who care about the remarkablenatural areas of the Chicago region. We are committed to continuing the long history of volunteer stewardship at these sites and helping to build a culture of 20-30-40-somethings who will understand and care about our preserves to the year 2030 and beyond. We gather at weekend workdays to remove invasive plants, gather and spread seeds, and lend nature a hand to recover from unfriendly human impacts. After hard, satisfying work, we gather around the brushfire for brats, s'mores, and laughter. You don't need to have restoration experience to join us; everyone is welcome! We'll show you the basics and help you discover the often overlooked ecological treasures within miles of our city!
