    While the history of the Y was founded on the basis of Christian Judeo principles, the Mission of today’s Y provides an ecumenical delivery of service through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all - regardless of an individual’s religion, race, age, sex, income, or national origin. We achieve this mission by building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through a broad spectrum of programs for children, youth, adults, seniors, and families.

    For children and youth, the Y is a safe place with caring adults, a place to make new friends, and a place to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

    For adults and sen iors, the Y is a place to refresh themselves, to relieve the stress and pressure of busy lives, to grow in self-esteem, to connect with others, to learn new skills, to volunteer, and build community.

    The Y continues to accomplish its mission to the residents of the Great Lakes Bay Region by teaching and demonstrating its core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility throughout all its programs.
