  • Mission

The mission of this organization is to support the Napa County Library financial and volunteer contributions to expand and improve library resources; to encourage use of the library resources by all segments of the community; to provide support through the volunteer services of its membership; and to support the Public Library’s role as a forum for information and ideas for the whole community.

    About Us

Friends of the Napa Library was organized in 1969 to support the Napa Main Library. FOL is overseen by a Board of Directors with over 700 members and 60+ volunteers.

The Friends is tasked primarily as a fundraising organization to help support new and ongoing library programs at the Napa location. Funding comes from our large book sales, ongoing lobby sales, eBay special books sales, an annual winter fundraising drive, and membership dues.

Our success is in large measure due to the tremendous support from our volunteers who sort, clean, and organize donated books from the Napa community. We also receive a significant number of CDs, books on tape, DVDs, games and puzzles. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization.
