  • Mission

    The Mountain View High School Tutorial Center offers a comprehensive tutorial program to students Grades 9-12. We provide academic support to students who need and want assistance. Students receive personal attention, encouragement and individual or small group tutoring. The goal is to promote student's academic progress and help students successfully complete assignments as well as to help them become independent learners and develop productive study habits.

    About Us

    Academic Tutors work in the Tutorial Center, as aides in the classroom, or as study group leaders. Tutors provide academic instruction in math (basic math thru Calculus),chemistry,physics,biology,social studies,economics,English,literature,foreign language and ELD. Tutors not only assist students with course content,but also introduce productive and successful study habits (i.e. study skills/techniques, note taking, time management, etc.) as well as being a positive role model. Flexible and variable hours/days: 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri/Sept.-June. Minimum one quarter, 2 hours per week commitment. Qualifications: General subject knowledge required. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Ability to speak clearly; patience; respect for and sensitivity to students from diverse backgrounds.
