  • Mission

Heartbeet Lifesharing is a vibrant intentional Camphill community that includes adults with developmental disabilities and interweaves the social and agricultural realms for the healing and renewing of our society and the earth. Community members live and work together, in beautiful extended family households, forming a mutually supportive environment that enables each individual to discover and develop his or her unique ability and potential.

    About Us

Heartbeet was founded in 2000 and is a land-based life-sharing community striving to restore vitality to our ecosystems and to societal structures. Adults who have developmental disabilities and volunteer coworkers form a supportive community based on shared responsibilities and caring. There are approximately 50 people living in the community, about 12 of whom are short-term volunteers. Located on a beautiful 150-acre farm in northeastern Vermont, we practice biodynamic inspired farming, gardening, and forestry, care for and create beautiful homes, cook and eat together delicious and nutritious meals, create amazing felted pictures, make card stock in our paper-making crew, and clean and care for our community center. We enjoy a rich cultural life with musical recitals, plays, seasonal festivals, and other activities.
