Sail2Change

Hello, we are Sail2Change!

Founded a little over two years ago, the mission of Sail2Change is to improve community equity by empowering our youth through access, opportunity, authentic relationships, and alternative outdoor education. We do this by inviting underserved youth to an immersive four-week summer program that includes two weeks of learning to sail, then two weeks of backpacking through the wilderness, followed by the student being paired with a mentor for their whole next school year. We also put on monthly educational events so students can continue learning and building community.

Since Covid happened, we had to simplify our program and are now offering small (10 student or less) events, as well as webinars taught by the Sail2Change community. As an organization, we are using this time to relationship build, fundraise, and better ourselves in all areas we can.

Our vision is to provide meaningful experiences for our youth to learn new skills, build self-confidence, and be immersed in opportunities they may have never had access to before. Through our volunteers, partners, sponsors, and supporters, we can build a community where our youth feel safe to discover the best version of themselves.
