  • About Us

The New York State Dental Foundation, which was incorporated in 1980, was established to foster a statewide approach to the advancement of the art and science of dentistry and dental education and to improve the quality of dental care by:

    • Assisting dentists and their staffs to increase and advancetheir skills and knowledge.
    • Encouraging the establishment and support of student aidprograms.
    • Making grants to appropriate agencies for purposes ofresearch.
    • Making grants to dental schools or other organizationsinvolved in the education of dentists.
    • Increasing the public's understanding of and access todental services.

The Foundation has been successful in numerous programs and initiatives, many dental providers remain unaware of the Foundation’s value as a resource. In addition to offering quality continuing education, the Foundation maintains the NYSDA CE Registry and assists dentists during annual audits by the New York State Education Department. By far, the most exciting initiative that the New York State Dental Foundation has embarked upon in the past year is the promotion of the children’s dental health certification project. Working with the New York State departments of Health and Education, and the Bureau of Dental Health, the Foundation has worked to ensure that all public schools, school administrators and nurses understand the new law, which requires that school districts request.

Together we can build a stronger community that will enrich our professional lives and enhance the quality, accessibility and public perception of dentistry.
