Our Mission... RESCUE, REHABILITATE, ADOPT, EDUCATE Founded in 1969, the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County (AWL) protects the unwanted, neglected, abandoned, sick, injured and abused animals of Trumbull County.

    About Us

Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County (AWL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting companion animals through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and humane education. Our humane agents investigate neglect and cruelty cases, and our shelter provides a safe place for animals to heal and find loving homes.

To help fund this mission, AWL operates The Menagerie, a nonprofit thrift store where every purchase supports the animals in our care. Volunteers at The Menagerie are essential to our success-sorting and pricing donations, assisting customers, creating displays, and helping with special events.

By volunteering with AWL or The Menagerie, you become part of a compassionate team working to improve the lives of animals in our community. Every hour donated helps us rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need while educating the public about responsible pet ownership.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, including students, retirees, and community groups. Whether you have a few hours a week or can help with special projects, your time truly makes a difference.
