  • About Us

Twelve miles south of Portland, Oregon, North America’s second largest waterfall has been hidden behind acres of industrial growth for over a century. With the closure of the last operating paper mill on the Oregon City side of Willamette Falls comes a once-in-a-generation opportunity to return public access to the Falls, which has been a natural gathering place for millennia. Plans are now underway to construct a Riverwalk and network of public spaces for residents and tourists to connect with the natural and cultural history of this iconic site.

Willamette Falls Trust (previously known as Rediscover the Falls) is the private nonprofit group charged with fundraising to support the creation and construction of the Riverwalk. Our goal is to champion and sustain an iconic Willamette Falls experience that offers year-round access to the Falls, historic and cultural interpretation, healthy natural habitats and a revitalized core for historic Oregon City.
