About Us

NHASD is a venture of 7 Egyptian professional development experts, who have been working more than 20 years with international and national development organizations throughout Egypt, that came together to serve societies and communities through enhancing peoples capacities and building strong sustainable community structures within marginalized communities.

NHASD takes a holistic approach in its project initiatives and through its programs ensures that it reaches the most vulnerable target groups in communities, including women, children and the disabled.

Mission

Our mission is to empower the poor and most neglected communities by advancing sustainable community-based development, giving the poor equal right to participate and engage in shaping their political, economic and social environment, and to exercise their right to a socio-economic sustainable livelihood and to access fundamental social services.

Overall objectives

• Encourage the formation of sustainable community structures and develop the human and institutional capacities of Community Development Associations (CDAs) • Provide pilot models for development initiatives that lead to a comprehensive improvement of poor people’s life • Protect and promote youth and children’s right to education and participation in civil society • Empower women to take lead in the socio-economic and political sphere of their communities

Strategies

• A rights based approach towards implementing development projects • A participatory approach towards implementing projects in target communities • A needs based approach to implementing project activities • A comprehensive approach, collaborating with governmental bodies, international/regional agencies and local NGOs.
