    Mainstreet Uptown Butte works to rejuvenate Uptown Butte, Montana by embracing the transformative power of the arts to lead to economic vitality and cultural vibrancy, encouraging rich and diverse performing and visual arts. Mainstreet Uptown Butte applies the power of the arts to implement the four points of the Main Street Approach -- working to visually enhance Uptown Butte, encouraging commerce to contribute to a vibrant Uptown economy, promoting Uptown's assets including businesses and attractions with a goal of preserving historic resources, and striving to work with organizations with similar goals.

    About Us

    Mainstreet Uptown Butte is the lead producer of the Montana Folk Festival, the Northwest US's largest free outdoor music festival and Butte's signature event.

    In addition, Mainstreet also seeks to increase livability by activating the Butte's historic district through a variety of free, family-friendly events such as the Butte Farmer's Market, the Uptown Butte Artwalk and the annual Butte Christmas Stroll.

    Mainstreet Uptown Butte is a member of the Imagine Butte Collaborative, a team of local economic and community development non-profit organizations working to improve Butte's phyical, social and economic wellbeing. In 2014, local artists and community stakeholders launched the Imagine Butte Resource Center (IBRC) to create a home for art, education and community action in the heart of Uptown Butte.

    Together the Imagine Butte Collaborative is currently focused on the restoration of the Historic Phoenix Building to serve as the permanent home for Uptown Butte's working artists and the non-profit organizations leading the city's major neighborhood revitalization investments.
