CASA Breakhouse

CASA is a voluntary organisation whose goal is to develop friendships and social outlets for people with disabilities.CASA offers year round respite breaks in our Breakhouse in Malahide. It offers respite care to people with a disability, in an atmosphere where each individual is valued and respected. While providing respite for family carers, we also provide quality breaks for the person with a disability. This is achieved in a warm, supportive and family like atmosphere where members and volunteers partake in day-to-day activities and social outings together.

To fulfil its mission CASA requires a large body of dedicated, committed volunteers. In return for their hard work and support, CASA offer volunteers valuable learning opportunities that will equip them with experiences and skills that could benefit them in future life and employment.

Although rewarding, the work involves long hours and makes many demands of volunteers. This is something that we ask each person to consider before applying.

To be a volunteer you need to have a genuine interest in caring for people. The role of the volunteer includes welcoming clients to the house and assisting those with disability. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and are of varying age.

Volunteers may give varying lengths of commitment from six months to one year. Each volunteer works as part of a team and is given all necessary support and guidance
