    The Historica Foundation, established in 1999, seeks to provide Canadians with a deeper understanding of their history and its importance in shaping their future. With offices in Toronto and Ottawa, it is the leading organization in Canada interested in promoting the teaching of and interest in Canadian history among children, youth and adults in our country. With its flagship programs (the Historica Fairs, the Heritage Minutes and Encounters with Canada), its web-based initiatives (including the ever-popular Canadian Encyclopedia) and its complementary professional development programs, the Foundation has established a solid platform. In carrying out its mission, Historica is committed to working in all provinces and territories, in both French and English, and with organizations and individuals of all origins.
