Susan G. Komen Central and Northern Arizona

Susan G. Komen® Central and Northern Arizona (Komen CAN AZ)is one of 120 affiliates around the world dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Our service area encompasses the nine counties of central and northern Arizona, including Apache, Coconino, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal and Yavapai counties.

With a local staff of 8 and a volunteer base of more than 1,500 community members, Komen CAN AZ is committed to fulfilling the Susan G. Komen® Promise: to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

While perhaps best known for our signature fundraising event – the annual Susan G. Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure® – our affiliate is engaged in year-round activities that help us fulfill the Komen Promise on a daily basis:

• advocating for universal access to screening and treatment
• providing breast health education and community outreach
• serving as a resource for survivors and co-survivors
• funding life-saving education, screening and treatment programs in central and northern Arizona

We are proud that up to 75 percent of our net income stays in central and northern Arizona to fund vital mission programs, while 25 percent supports the internationally recognized Komen Award and Research Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
