COSACOSA art at large, Inc. creates new public art and media projects by, for, and about Philadelphia communities. Through direct, long-term partnerships with city residents, COSACOSA reasserts art's original role as a catalyst for community dialogue, creative cooperation, and positive change.

Since 1990, COSACOSA has connected thousands of participants from our city's most underserved neighborhoods to learn about art, about each other, and about how to plan together their communities' self-determination. We reclaim the time-honored role of art in sustaining community well-being and in building civic participation.

COSACOSA designs innovative programs to deliver interactive “dialogues through art” directly into Philadelphia's most underserved neighborhoods. Through extended, community-based residencies, we engage city residents of different backgrounds, ages, and abilities to design and create neighborhood-specific public art and media projects.

We believe the arts and humanities can change the world. Truly. From over thirty years working with marginalized communities, we know creative expression unites people in building a better future. We envision a society that understands and values the essential worth and ability of every person to contribute to the greater good.
