We are committed to the spiritual, cultural, educational, economic and social empowerment of African Ancestral womyn and dedicated to making our voices heard in advocacy for the rights of Lesbian womyn of color. We hold groups, forums, workshops and discussions within the community, provide social activities and events, social justice and activism and overall creating a safe space to gather and fellowship

Mission:

To provide a community space for and by same gender loving womyn across the African Diaspora, regardless of Language, Class or Culture, to gather and be active participants in sustaining and growing our community by bringing awareness to, providing solutions for and shaping policy around the needs of and issues that affect our community

The need for an organization like AALUSC in the Lesbian community in 1974 is not the same for our community in current times and therefore in keeping out doors open, AALUSC is undergoing a re-branding and restructuring. Part of this restructuring includes rebuilding our membership, our board and becoming more diverse in the members we serve and addressing their needs.
