Our mission is to provide trained, independent advocates to represent and promote the best interests of abused, neglected, and dependent children in the state court system and to work towards a plan that ensures that these children are in a safe, permanent home.
The Guardian ad Litem volunteer is paired with an Attorney Advocate to ensure that the child's rights and best interests are before the Court. The volunteer explores relevant facts, monitors the case, and makes recommendations to the Court. The Guardian ad Litem is only appointed to represent the child for the duration of the Court's involvement and does not serve as the child's legal guardian. No special education is required. Our staff provides the necessary training.
