AHHAH serves the most vulnerable children and families in Chester County, with its primary focus in Coatesville and Kennett Square, PA. Since, 2013, we have been guided by or vision that every child in Chester County will have the tools and opportunities they need to achieve their highest capacity. Since our inception over 13,500 children and adults in Chester County have participated in our programs.
AHHAH employs multiple strategies C.A.L.M. (Community, Arts, Literacy, Mindfulness)to mitigate the stressful effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Our programs are designed to engage youth in mindful, artistic initiatives that build resiliency and create positive pathways toward productive and fulfilling lives.
Awards: 2015 National Detention Center and Alternative Programs award, 2016 JDCAP National Poetry Contest award, "A Diamond In The Ruff" written in one of our poetry workshops, AHHAH published Justice Restored: A Series of Writings and Poems from Incarcerated Youth. 2016 the second edition was printed. 2017 "Celebrate Literacy Award" from the Chester County Reading Association for the PULL (Pop Up Lending Library" campaign in Coatesville, 2015 AHHAH partnered with Coatesville Head Start today bringing programs to over 400 children in Head Start.
