About the Campaign:
Dr. Kristin Lyerly is the Democratic candidate for WI-08, the only open seat in Wisconsin. As a practicing OB/GYN, after the fall of Roe v. Wade, she fought against Wisconsin’s 1849 criminal abortion ban - and won. Now, after the surprise, early retirement of Congressman Mike Gallagher, she is running to fill the vacated seat, with a special election in November to fill out the remainder of the term. Dr. Lyerly has already raised over $1,000,000 since entering the race in April, and has received major endorsements, from Senator Tammy Baldwin to 314 Action and Reproductive Freedom for All. Wisconsin is one of the most crucial swing states in the country and, with new state-level maps and unprecedented engagement, high turnout rates are expected.
