  • About Us

The Society of St. Andrew is America's premier food rescue & distribution ministry. We feed hungry Americans through our three major programs:

Gleaning Network Volunteers glean nutritious produce from farmers' fields and orchards after the harvest. This food is delivered to those in need.

Potato & Produce Project Truckloads of unmarketable potatoes and other produce, donated by the agricultural community, are delivered to agencies serving the poor.

Harvest of Hope Our education program informs people about the hunger problem and encourages them to be part of the solution.

    History, Mission & Vision

The Society of St. Andrew was formed in 1979 as an intentional community of two families called to life and ministry together. It has grown into an ecumenical, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to leading others into lives of faithful community and service. Our Tennessee office opened in 2010 with headquarters in Nashville, TN.

Since our founding in 1979, the Society of St. Andrew has worked to fulfill the mandate of the Gospel in our lives by striving to adhere to the words of 1 John 3:18: "Let us love not only in words, but in deed and in truth."

The mission of the Society of St. Andrew is to introduce people to God's grace through meeting their hungers:

    Food for the body

    God's word for the spirit

Community of love for the heart

Opportunity for those who desire action
