    About Us

The California Avocado Festival is a non-profit organization (501c3 Tax ID #77-0159754) dedicated to promote Carpinteria’s local agriculture, fund other non-profits and community projects, and help the development of tourism within Carpinteria Valley. The festival is run by a volunteer board of directors and supported by only one staff member.

The California Avocado Festival serves as a vehicle for the non-profits and community service groups to raise funds for local charities and social service organizations. In 2017, our participating non-profits and service organizations were able to create over $75,000 worth of funds that went back to the community through their initiatives.

The California Avocado Festival is considered the largest FREE music festival in California with over 100,000 festival attendees. Every year we have over 75 music acts on 4 stages, and a four-block by two-block festival footprint. With our high level attendance Carpinteria’s economy greatly benefits from the flood of tourists who are eager to experience the essence of Carpinteria.

For the past four years, we have been able to achieve our goal of "zero waste" with high standards of recycling, biodiesel generators, no Styrofoam, LED lighting, and the help of all in attendance.
