About Sports Talent Africa

Africa has previously faced a scourge of HIV/AIDs crisis that has rendered so many children orphans, needy and helpless. A number of such children and youths are however endowed with great talents in sports – which goes for both girls and boys, by which special skills they can not only survive as responsible citizens but also elevate the socio-economic status of their own communities and families.

With our focus and orientation on sports, Sports Talent Africa (STAR) stepped-up in early 2009 to cover a missing link between identification, development and actualisation of children and youth dreams through sports.

With a main focus upon soccer, STAR has grown to recruit, train and expose over 870 children and youths to greater national and international sports arenas thereby brining their dreams closer and closer to reality.

We aim to improve the nation’s socio-economic status through support and development of sports talents thereby enhancing our communities in social, health, education, nutrition, economic, spiritual and proper development aspects as far as standard of living is concerned.

Our Vision

To be a leading life changing opportunity for children, youths and adults who are talented in sports skills while developing and enriching their spiritual, educational, health and welfare aspects.

Our Mission

To develop children and youths talents in sports whilst building and strengthening symbiotically beneficial relationships with national and international sports bodies in a bid to overhaul sports talent growth to the wholesome benefit of children and youths enrolled in our sports activities.

STAR OBJECTIVES

1. To provide sponsorship programs to orphans, needy children and poor youths to continue with education programs using their sports talents.
2. To promote girl child education so that we can ensure gender equality and equal opportunities in the communities that we serve. 
3. To start and develop income generating projects to ensure sustainability of the organization’s programs
4. To build permanent sports play grounds in Uganda and other parts of Africa to help in sports training programs.
5. To regularly organize sports tournaments to improve on the children and youth’s sports talents.
6. To distribute efficient and well trained sports players to prominent international sports clubs. 
7. To build a home to provide a safe and better environment for the orphaned children.
8. To conduct community outreach programs with the purpose of sensitizing people about sanitation, poverty eradication, quality education, health and among others.

STAR MAIN ACTIVITIES

1. To build several sports play grounds in Africa to help promote sports.
2. Organizing seminars for children, youth and adults on HIV/AIDS and malaria.
3. Building sports schools where orphans, needy children and youths can access affordable education and sports skills.
4. To promote girl child education and talent promotion in relation with gender equality.
5. Building a home for the total orphans.
6. Procure transport means to help move sports players to different places for sports program activities.
7. To find possible sponsors for orphans, needy children and youths.
8. Providing school materials to the total orphans, needy children and youths.
9. Educating the starving orphaned children, needy children and youths of Africa on sponsorship.
10. Starting income generating projects for sustainability of the organization programs.
