  • Mission

Our mission is empowering the Latino and immigrant community to integrate effectively.

    About Us

For more than 50 years, Centro de Informacion has been a place where Latino and immigrant residents in the Elgin area feel safe, understood, and supported. Today Centro operates three offices in the northwestern Chicago suburbs and served nearly 4,000 unduplicated individuals from over 40 countries of origin.

Centro's bilingual, bicultural services include Department of Justice–recognized immigration legal assistance, public benefits screening and application assistance, comprehensive case management, an emergency food pantry, mental health supports, free educational workshops including Know Your Rights education, family crisis support, public notary services, and trusted referrals. Our goals are to remove the language, cultural, and systemic barriers that keep immigrant families from stability, and to help every client define and reach their own vision of thriving.
