  • Mission

Hub Cities Consortium (HCC) will advance the economic well being of the region and develop a world-class workforce by providing universal access to information and resources for job seekers, businesses, and the community at large; by serving as the access point to workforce systems; by empowering job seekers to achieve self-sufficiency; and by working with the business community to meet their current and future needs.

    About Us

In the late 1980s, civic leaders from our area recognized the need for local cities to come together to address the workforce development needs of the region. As a result, Hub Cities Consortium (HCC) formed in 1988 as a joint powers agency across several local cities. Today, elected officials from the cities of Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, and South Gate comprise the Consortium’s Board of Directors, who set policies for Hub Cities programs and ensures that the organization continues to meet the needs of its constituents.

Our mission is to provide high quality employment assistance, job training, and workforce development services to local job seekers and businesses, with the goal of building a strong and vibrant economy within the region. While much of Hub Cities’ funding is derived from Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act resources provided by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the agency also seeks support from private and corporate sponsors to supplement services funded through public programs.

HCC is extremely proud of its strong history. Within the past 30 years, HCC has served a broad range of job seekers, from degreed professionals, displaced due to lay-offs to at-risk youth lacking the most fundamental work-related skills. By developing a comprehensive set of workforce development services, we have met the needs of all categories of job seekers, including new entrants to the workforce, mature workers, workers lacking basic skills, veterans, individuals with disabilities, ex-offenders, incumbent workers, foster youth in transition and displaced homemakers, among others.
