The West Valley Lutheran Thrift Shop (WVLTS) was initially begun in 1994 as a way for local churches to fund new missions. Almost 30 years later, what started in a few small store fronts has grown to fill a 35,000 square foot retail space in Sun City. Impressively, the operation has been run almost entirely by volunteers. However, what is truly extraordinary is that since it inception, WVLTS has raised and donated over $10 million to more than 100 local non-profits and ELCA missions throughout the Valley.
The Thrift Shop is a Treasure Hunter's Paradise of donated goods where all manner of exciting and interesting items can be found. The monies collected are turned into grants and scholarships supporting a wide range of local non-profits including church projects, youth programs, basic human needs efforts and more. All of this is only possible through the generosity of volunteers who give of their time and talent.
Volunteers become Treasure Hunters as well as members of our faith driven community. Amazing friendships, flexible volunteer shifts, snacks and coffee, and a whole lot of FUN are gained as a result of joining our team! So, stop by for a visit, a tour or both and hopefully you'll stick around for the Hunt!
