About Us

In September 2012, The New Community College at CUNY opened its doors to its inaugural cohort of students. It was CUNY’s first new community college in more than forty years. In the months to follow, The New Community College at CUNY would become Stellar and Charles Guttman Community College. 

Founded in the CUNY tradition of access to excellence, Stella and Charles Guttman Community College supports student achievement in a dynamic, inclusive, and intellectually engaging environment. We are recognized for the contributions of our students, faculty, staff, and graduates to our communities, and to a thriving, sustainable New York City.

Stella and Charles Guttman Community College of the City University of New York is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Guttman Community College works alongside our students in advancing our mission to:

Majors:

A.A. in Business Administration; A.A. in Human Services; A.A.S. in Information Technology; A.A. in Liberal Arts & Sciences; and A.A. in Urban Studies.

Guttman Community College is working to increase academic offerings including new certificate programs and new innovative majors to address the changing economic landscape and 21st-century employment needs.
