PFLAG is a national nonprofit organization with thousands of members and supporters, and hundreds of chapters across the United States and around the globe. As the extended family of the LGBTQ+ community, PFLAG’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, their families and friends through:
SUPPORT – to cope with an adverse society.
EDUCATION – to enlighten an ill-informed public.
ADVOCACY – to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.
PFLAG acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
Since 1995, the PFLAG Columbia-Howard County chapter (PFLAG HoCo) has provided support, education, and advocacy in support of the LGBTQ+ community of Howard County, with outreach to other communities in the greater Patapsco region.
