About Us

THE MISSION STATEMENT for Jesus of Nazareth (J.o.N.) Compassion Ministries is:

To Grace the Body of Christ with Opportunities to Evangelize the Hurting via Compassion Ministries and Love Them into the Church.

J.o.N. Compassion Ministries was conceived from the desire to reach hurting people with the unbelievably good news of the Gospel: It was born on August 24, 2008, at the worst momento of the most difficult recession since the Great Depression. Penniless and without a single donation for the first 2 months this ministry would have perished if not for God's faithfulness. On Saturday, November 1, 2008 this ministry was consecrated to the glory of God and His blessings began to stream forth.

WHO DO WE SERVE?
We serve the Denver Westwood Neighborhood, sometimes referred to as the "forgotten city". Our community has according to the 2010 US Census:
  • A population of 15,486
  • 80.7% Latino population
  • 5,683 children under the age of 18
  • 31.5% of those children live in poverty
  • $11,336.30 average annual wages (x) worker

We serve the Body of Christ.  Though we are a Nazarene Compassion Ministry, we exist to encourage all Christians to step out of their comfort zone and fulfill God's command to love others as themselves, especially children, single moms, immigrants, and all the poor.

We serve Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to God the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
