About Us

IREJN is a statewide interfaith coalition that welcomes individuals of all faith traditions in our work to care for the planet, addressing climate change, and celebrating creation. Founded in 2000 by religious leaders active in the "Sooty Six" campaign, a campaign to clean up Connecticut's dirty fossil fuel plants, IREJN began to tackle other environmental challenges, such as clean energy, energy conservation, and toxic exposure reduction.

By focusing on people of faith, IREJN has been able to educate, motivate, and inspire a vast number of people in Connecticut to make eco-friendly choices both at home and at their place of worship.

We believe that we have a profound moral and spiritual duty to call for more responsible stewardship of the earth. Every day is an opportunity to make the world a better place and we hope that you will join us in our work!
