Wildlife Care Association is a non-profit organization based out of McClellan, California (Sacramento area) that is permitted by the California Department of Fish and Game and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to care for wildlife. WCA is open year round, seven days a week including most holidays.
Concerned citizens and local agencies bring us thousands of sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals each year. WCA provides emergency and on going medical services to the animals in our care with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. The staff at Wildlife Care Association relies on volunteers to accomplish this. WCA provides training for all volunteer positions. Volunteers are encouraged to expand their knowledge by attending training opportunities and classes.
WCA also provides many educational opportunities to the local Sacramento community. WCA offers live animal presentations to youth groups and other organizations to educate our community about local wildlife.
WCA is always looking for new volunteers to join our ranks. Our greatest need for volunteers comes during the spring and summer months when many local animals are breeding. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our website at www.wildlifecareassociation.com and complete a volunteer application found under the "Help WCA" tab at the top of the page.
