About Us

Foundation for Inclusive Community Help (FICH) is a vibrant indigenous National Non- Governmental Organization registered with NGO Board Kampala, no. S.5914/12762. Also, FICH is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and without share capital with Uganda Registration Service Bureau in 2016.

FICH has been in operation with its former name (Fight to Improve Community Health) since 2010 as a Community-Led Organization in Oyam District located in Northern Uganda before re-branding to the current “Foundation for Inclusive Community Help.”

FICH was established with the need to see the full participation of youth, women and community at large in in fight against economic, educational, and health related threats and challenges. With zeal and

desire, we assist and support youth in school, married/unmarried women and men, persons with disabilities, youth and those that dropped out of school with special attention given to the poor dwelling in hard-to-reach and remote areas.

Our priorities are in education for children affected by conflict and disadvantaged livelihoods with a strong focus on entrepreneurship development, women empowerment and community development. We target the age group 12 to 35 years but address concerns of children in the care of young mothers and child headed households. Activities within these target groups are carried out within school and out of school settings and through groups and associations in the communities.

We collaborate closely with target communities through organized groups and associations, cultural and religious leaders; local, national and international NGOs; local government structures, civil servants and political leaders at the district and sub county.

We work with a number of stakeholders in and around Oyam district including; government departments, District Local Governments, community-based structures, schools and institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as well as international partners and donors.

We have weekly program meetings and monthly team meetings for planning and feedback. All staff are given opportunity to share ideas and views on the organization. Our organizational culture is based on mutual support and respect, trust, openness, gender sensitivity and collective responsibility for the greater good of the beneficiaries and the community at large. Both staff and Board are well balanced in gender composition.

We are guided by a vision, mission, core values and strategic objectives.
